How founders use each

Typical situations, and the service that fits.

Acquisitiv Target 45

"I know what I want. I just can't find it."

A £20m engineering services business wants a competitor in the North West. It wants one with repeat maintenance contracts. Brokers have found nothing right in two years. Acquisitiv Target 45 maps the market and writes to the owners. Then it introduces the founder to five who are open to a talk.

Acquisitiv Expansion Partnership

"We want to buy three businesses in three years."

A £45m food business has a plan, agreed by its board, to grow by buying. It wants more capacity and new ways to reach customers. It has no deal team, and the finance director is stretched. The Expansion Partnership keeps the search going and tracks each business in play. It also organises the lawyers and accountants on each live deal.

Both, in order

"Start small, then keep going."

Many founders start with Target 45 to test the market and meet owners. Then they move to the Expansion Partnership. That might be when a live deal needs running, or when they want the next search to start.

Neither, yet

"We're not sure buying is right."

That's what the Expansion Briefing is for. If the honest answer is "not yet", we'll tell you what to put in place first. The readiness planner is a good place to start.

Where to start

The Expansion Briefing helps you choose

On a free 30-minute call, we ask what you want to buy and why. We ask how you'd pay for it and who would run it. Then you get a short written summary. It covers your goal and a first list of what to look for. It also covers the gaps we see and the service we'd suggest, if any.

Can I start with the Expansion Partnership?

Yes, if you have a clear plan. You also need a live deal or a steady need for new ones. Most founders start with Target 45. It's a set piece of work with a clear result.

Is Target 45 just a list of businesses?

No. The list is only the first step. We contact each owner on it and check the ones who reply. Then we introduce you to five who fit and want to talk.

Do you value businesses and negotiate deals?

In the Expansion Partnership, we help you value the business, make offers and negotiate. We also organise your lawyers and accountants. In Target 45, our job ends when we introduce you and hand over. You can add deal support later.

Who does the legal and money checks?

Your lawyers, accountants and tax advisers do their own work. We organise them, so what they find shapes the price and the terms. We don't give legal advice or provide finance.
